Goodman secures pre-let agreement for a new Nissan dealership at Northfield Park +

Global integrated property group, Goodman, has secured a pre-let agreement with Wessex Garages, a registered retailer of Nissan cars, for a new car dealership at Northfield Park in Bristol. Construction work will start on the state-of-the-art dealership in May, with completion due in December 2015.

Goodman, which owns and manages Northfield Park, secured planning permission for the development in March. The dealership will feature a car showroom, external car display area, service/MOT facility, as well as first floor offices.

Wessex Garages is a locally-based, growing car dealership company with six successful sites across Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester and Newport. This will be Wessex’s seventh dealership and its fourth for Nissan, with the potential to create at least 25 new jobs.

Located to the north of Bristol city centre, at the intersection of the M4, M5 and A38, Northfield Park offers Grade A office development opportunities in fully landscaped grounds. It is also close to Bristol Parkway Rail Station, which provides direct links to London Paddington.

James Raven, Development Director, Goodman UK Business Parks, said: “This is a great deal for Goodman, Wessex Garages and will be a great boost to the local area”

“We have worked closely with Wessex Garages over the past few months on development plans for the site. The dealership will be a bright, modern space that will provide a great experience for both customers and employees.

“We look forward to starting work on site and seeing the development through to completion toward the end of this year.”

Keith Brock, Managing Director at Wessex Garages, said: “Northfield Park offers an excellent location for our fourth Nissan dealership and we are confident that our development partner, Goodman, will deliver this project – which is a significant investment for us – on time and to budget.

“We’re thrilled that the state-of-the-art dealership will have a stunning look when it’s unveiled, featuring the brand’s new 21st century showroom concept – which reflects Nissan’s core principles of innovation and excitement and provides a totally enhanced experience for our customers.”

“As sales of electric vehicles have doubled over the last year, we will also be offering three charging points at the new dealership, including the incredible 30 minute fast-charger. In addition, a dedicated ‘Innovation Specialist’ will be on-hand to guide customers through this new technology at all times.”

Following this deal, there is 24 acres of land still available at Northfield Park for businesses interested in bespoke office solutions.
