Goodman completes sale of 0.82 acres to Premier Inn at Oxford Business Park +
Global integrated property group, Goodman, has sold 0.82 acres of land at Oxford Business Park to Britain's best loved hotel chain Premier Inn.
The land sits beside Premier Inn’s existing hotel at Oxford Business Park, on Garsington Road, and will be used to add an additional 63 bedrooms. Planning permission on the expansion has been received and work will start on site immediately, with completion due by the end of 2015.
James Raven, Development Director, Goodman UK Business Parks, said:
“This land sale will allow Premier Inn to expand its existing hotel at Oxford Business Park. The expansion is a sign that the park has become a popular destination for UK businesses thanks to its convenient location, high quality amenities and quality landscaping. We’re delighted that Premier Inn will be growing with us at Oxford Business Park and look forward to seeing the expansion of the hotel complete later this year.”
Graham Hedley, Project and Programme Manager for Extensions at Premier Inn, said: “We’re keen to invest into Oxford and the success of our Garsington Road Premier Inn means that we can now press the button on a significant upgrade to the hotel. Adding a further 63 bedrooms will help us to meet strong customer demand and provide more capacity in the growing local market created by the success of Oxford Business Park as well as Oxford’s thriving visitor and business economy.”
Goodman owns, develops and manages Oxford Business Park. The park is well placed for access to Oxford city centre and the wider South East and Midlands regions via the M40 and M4 motorways. It is home to a flourishing local business network of over 70 companies, including household names like Oxfam, BT and Centrica.
